Bar Supervisor

Award winning Cocktail Bar

The Lobo, Sydney

 

We are looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor to join our family.

 

You will be chiefly focused on assisting the Bar Manager in the operation of the bar and it’s beverage program, leading our well developed close knit team of industry professionals.

 

You will also take a share of generally assisting in the day to day operations of this high-volume, award winning cocktail and rum bar. Being a manager on duty will mean overseeing all aspects of a 100 pax venue and managing a team of up to 10 staff on a shift.

 

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about hospitality as a career, is customer service and detailed focused, displays great leadership and has the ambition to grow with us as a business.

 

The role:

  • Be a direct support to our Bar Manager and work in line with our management and venue team. Be at the forefront in leading and developing a strong and well established bar team.

 

  • Manage the day to day operations ensuring that the level of customer service is consistently in line with our brand’s standards.

 

  • Manage and maintain systems and procedures of the bar and venue.

 

  • Assisting the Bar Manager in launching our cocktail menus, spirits, and beer lists.

 

  • Assist Bar Manager in organising and delivering regular trainings to keep our bar and floor teams on their best service game and up to speed on product knowledge.

 

  • Have a confident level of knowledge in quality cocktails and rum.

 

  • Maintain operations within budgetary requirements.

 

  • Attend our bi-weekly management meetings, contribute agenda points by sharing issues and observations throughout the week.

 

  • Motivate and inspire our team to achieve great results.

REQUIREMENTS

Required skills & attributes:

 

  • Have bar experience in a premium cocktail driven venue for a minimum of 2 years at a level with responsibility.

 

  • Ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop people

 

  • Experience working to budgets and KPIs, proven success in driving revenue and profits

 

  • Knowledge of liquor licensing laws and venue compliance.

 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to think on your feet and multi-task. Self motivated, making use of check lists and communication methods to manage own workload and give regular updates.

 

  • A strong understanding of BOH and POS systems

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to delegate effectively

 

  • Prepared to work flexible hours for 5 shifts including nights and weekends.

 

  • A passion for hospitality, leading from the front and developing relationships across all levels of the business
